Approach to Tax

ConocoPhillips publicly discloses our Global Tax Policy, which guides our global tax practices and strategy. The tax management team, with oversight of the Vice President and General Tax Counsel, reviews and approves the tax strategy at least annually. See our Global Tax Disclosures.

ConocoPhillips is committed to full compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations in jurisdictions where we operate. Our approach emphasizes accurate reporting, timely filing and payments, and proactive and transparent engagement with tax authorities to minimize disputes and reach mutually agreeable outcomes.

Our approach to tax aligns with the company’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, including maintaining effective risk management and controls. This approach is also consistent with our published Sustainable Development Policy. ConocoPhillips has implemented formal procedures for submitting proposals, inquiries, or concerns to the company, including those pertaining to tax matters.
